Like many, Paul had an interest in cars and motor racing from an early age, and as a boy dreamed of owning a Lotus 7. He finally realised his dream in late 1999 when he ordered a Caterham 7 Roadsport kit which he built over the winter and registered it in March 2000. The car has a 1.8 litre, 140 bhp K series supersport engine and is used as a tourer. 2008 saw the car completing more miles than normal with a 2 week trip in May over the Pyrenees to Barcelona and back home through France via the Millau Bridge. This was followed by a further trip to France in July to watch the Le Mans Classic and a long weekend tour of the Scottish Borders in September.

A real “petrol head” Sarah built her 7 in 1994 and her love of speed means she also owns 2 motorcycles. She’s been on 4 trips to watch the Le Mans 24 hour race and went to the Le Mans Classic in July 2008 – a trip she hopes to repeat in 2010. Sarah’s 7 is a classic 7 in British Racing Green and Yellow with flared wings and a 135 bhp Ford Crossflow Supersprint engine.
